Success in International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2021


Our student from Stirling Schools Kirkuk, Mustafa Ahmed Hameed Albayati, won a bronze medal in the finals of International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) 2021.


Stirling Schools represented Iraq with a team of 8 students in the Olympiad held between December 12-21, 2021.


This year, the IJSO finals were held in Dubai, UAE, and students from more than 70 countries competed in the finals of the olympiad.


We would like to congratulate our students, their supervisors, and their parents for this amazing success.


International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is a competition in science for students who are fifteen years or younger on 31 st December of the competition year. IJSO aims to promote interest in science among school students, exposing them to problem solving, critical thinking and experimentation. Over the years IJSO aims to positively impact science and mathematics education at school level.

The academic competitions of the IJSO include challenging tests in topics of science, both as theory questions and practical tasks. The tests are designed to address students' understanding of concepts, and their ability to apply concepts to the situations described in the tests.
