All around the world teachers do fantastic work. They don't just teach a curriculum – they instil values, encourage, support, befriend and truly impact the lives of their students and colleagues around them.  

Our student "Anya Ali Ismael" nominated our math teacher "Heshu Fars" at Slemani International Girls' Secondary School to become the Teacher of the Year.  

This year 11,000 nominations are submitted from 99 countries. Our Teacher is one of the 60 shortlisted teachers to win this award and the only Teacher from Iraq to be shortlisted. 

The Cambridge Dedicated Teacher Awards are a global competition in which you can nominate a current primary or secondary teacher for something wonderful they have done. 

Nominations for the awards are submitted by students, parents, and colleagues, and winners are selected by a panel of judges based on their impact, creativity, and dedication to teaching.
